  • What will my donation to ‘Night in a Box’ be used for?

    • 1/3 of the funds will be used to remodel Providence Ministries' non-profit facility in the heart of one of Denver’s neediest communities. The building will be used for after-school programs, drug and alcohol counseling, employment assistance, and other community services.
    • 1/3 of the funds will be used for operational costs in 2010 including staff and programs.
    • 1/3 of the funds will be used for direct services to the poor. It will be distributed as follows:
      • 1/3 will be given to the Denver Road Home Seniors and Families Homeless Initiative.
      • 1/3 will be given to the Denver Rescue Mission.
      • 1/3 will be used for the people that are served through Providence Ministries

    What is Providence Ministries?

    Providence Ministries is a non-profit ministry whose mission is to serve the poor in Denver. Providence Ministries is a division of Providence Bible Church.

  • Where in Night in a Box going to take place?

    We will all sleep in the large parking lot at the corner of Park Avenue West and Larimer Street
  • What can I expect as far as check-in, activities, and events the evening of Night in a Box?

    We will be sending specific detail to all participants (Champions & Sponsors) about the registration process at least two weeks prior to the event night.
  • What are the sleeping arrangements?

    All participants will have pre-assigned locations where they will sleep. All groups will be assigned the same general area.
  • Why should I participate in Night in a Box?

    To help others! Ever walk by someone on the street and wish you could change his or her life instead of just throwing them some spare change? Here is your chance!
  • Are there any fees to participate?

    No. Although, Providence Ministries does request that each champion obtains at least 10 supporters (pledging any amount) to participate in a “Night in a Box.”
  • Is there a deadline to register for Night in a Box?

    All participants must be registered at least 1 week prior to the event; however, space is limited. We recommend that you register early to ensure you are able to participate.
  • When is the deadline to turn in donations/ sponsorships?

    * Donations will be accepted up to the night of the event and may be given in person to the sponsoring champions, donated on line (click here to Donate) or mailed to:

  • Can I leave the premises before the event concludes?

    Registration and check-in will end at 7:00 pm and will be strictly enforced. Participants may leave the premises, but will not be allowed to re-enter.
  • Will Night in a Box be safe?

    Yes, security staff and medical personnel will be on-hand at the event.
  • What should I bring to Night in a Box?

    • Sleeping Bag
    • Winter Coat and clothing (gloves, hats, etc.)
    • Blankets/Pillows
    • Snacks, water, and any medication you require
  • What should I not bring to Night in a Box?

    • Cooler
    • Alcohol/Drugs
    • Weapons of any kind (including pocketknives)
    • Tents/air mattresses
    • Bicycles
    • Radio/boom box
    • Pets
  • Will bathrooms be available?

    Yes
  • Is there public transportation to Night in a Box?

    Yes the location of the event will be near a public transportation drop off location.
  • Is there a minimum age to participate?

    All participants must be over the age of 5. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • I'm unable to participate in the event, but I would still like to make a donation. How can I do this?

    If you would like to sponsor a participant of Night in a Box without actually attending the event, you may donate online (click here to Donate) or mail a check to:
