I have been in law enforcement for over fifteen years here in the Wenatchee valley and have seen the hardship that can befall upon our citizens. Approx. six years ago I became involved with Light House Ministries and was introduced to the director of this charity Shawn Arrington. Over the four years I have developed a friendship with Mr. Arrington and he has been wonderful to work with both personally and in a professional manner. When Mr. Arrington recently approached me to represent the East Wenatchee Police Dept. I was more than excited to be part of this event

We are a group of 10 -12 year olds who have a heart for those who are in need in our valley. We are excited to raise money for Lighthouse and grow in our empathy for the homeless around us.

On this day 2017 I had 3 days off of methamphetamine use I just got off the streets from being homeless waiting for a bed date in treatment…gave my life to Jesus…was living at the gospel house while I waited to go to treatment and showed up to this event not only to help out but to support a ministry that helped save my life as of today I’m 10 days shy a two years off of alcohol and every other drug I live a life today with Jesus.. full of service helping others and a full heart and continue to give my time into this event if it wasn’t for the lighthouse Christian ministries believing in..and telling me I was better than what I thought I was and showing me a way to walk with Jesus in my life… To help build a firm foundation with the word of God… I would still be out there lost if not dead… First off I owe my life to Jesus cuz he paid the highest price possible for me…second of all to all the different pastors and brothers and disciplers in this town that sowed into my Life and gave me the opportunity to be able to sow into other people’s lives… LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES CAN ONLY KEEP HELPING PEOPLE LIKE ME AND NEED WITH THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF THIS COMMUNITY… PLEASE HELP KEEP THE LIGHT SHINING BRIGHT THAT HELP OTHERS IN NEED FIND THEIR WAY HOME… LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES IS MORE THAN BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER…TYJ… AND GOD BLESS

Anightinabox is something I want to be apart of not only for myself,but to raise awareness within our community that there’s those who can be reached through humility and love of Christ. There’s been so many nights when I was struggling with addiction that I didn’t even know where I was going to sleep,and the fear of it being cold and if id have food to eat. By the grace of God he redeemed me from that because of Ministries that share the love of Jesus.

I’m very thankful that The Lighthouse Ministries is here in Wenatchee, Wa. I’ve been able to grow at the Bible studies and watch love pour out to those who frequently visit. And there’s been so many mighty miracles I’ve heard of and been able to see in the people who have been blessed by The Lighthouse. Thank you Jesus for making this annual event something so purposeful.

When I was growing up I saw my dad’s lifestyle in and out of homelessness. When he moved to Wenatchee he got involved with the Lighthouse Christian Ministries. God used LCM in my dad’s life and completely ratified him. This changed my life as well in every way. God uses the LCM in so many ways to change people lives! This is why I am doing Night in a box! To support God in this Ministry!

My friend Kristina Fry asked if I would stand in for her and I have always wanted to be involved with this. And this year I am.

Off and on for the last 10 years I have made my way down to the Lighthouse Christian ministries on Wenatchee Avenue and volunteered in different capacities.

Last year I spent a cold November night sleeping in a Box (outside) in an effort to raise awareness for the homeless needs in our valley.

This year, the organization is closer to my heart than ever. Not only do I hold a special connection to the homeless, but this ministry actually led me to my now husband. His testimony is one of rising from the ashes into the glorious light. This ministry was the catalyst for him to be discipled and grow in leaps and bounds in his faith and walk in the calling God had on his life.

Many of the Lighthouse patrons have become close friends of mine, and their hearts are pure gold. Please join me in supporting this wonderful ministry and pray about donating to this cause. I will be sleeping in a Box again this year! Please join me in partnering with this great organization that is doing the Will of God.

I am a single mother of 4 beautiful children. Almost 4 years ago I found my self homeless, with 3 children 2 weeks away from giving birth. I was struggling with drug addiction and the thought that my children would be better off without me. The day I gave birth, my world was about to be rocked, and I didn’t even know it. My son lived through a pregnancy that should have killed him, and that same day a bed was available for me at the Grace House, a women’s transitional living home. I was surrounded by people who loved Jesus, I wanted to know what this was, He changed my life! Since then I’ve become an amazing mother, I’ve been able to work full time jobs, and just recently received the position as Executive Director of Real Options, a women’s pregnancy clinic. And in just a couple weeks my kids and I will be moving into a home of our own. This will be my third year sleeping in a box. And I know it’s not my last. Thank you Lighthouse Christian Ministries!

Lighthouse Ministries is legit to the core! I know and work with these guys. As someone who wants to invest wisely, this ministry is one of the best investments I can imagine.

Hello my name is Daphne, I choose to spend the night to help raise awareness for the needs of homeless during this time of year. As I reflect back to the mid 1980’s where our dad had spent many a night with his “buddies” (who were homeless) in Oroville, Wa. When dad came home late at night or the next morning he had no coat, gloves, or boots at different times. My sisters’/or I would ask him, “Dad where’s your _______?” His reply, “Oh my buddy needed it more than I did, I know I have more at home.”

I, myself had spent the night in my car a few years ago on a cold winter night (because of an argument I’d had with my boyfriend at the time)

It’s taken years of wrong turns to get me onto the right road.


About seven years ago, I stepped onto the road of drugs and subsequent destruction, completely unaware of the ramifications of each choice I made—willfully blinded to the darkness that deepened with every step I took.


Last year, in the midst of the chaos I received a knock on my door from a woman who would, unbeknownst to me, become a truly dear friend and sister to me…and when I opened the door to her, I also opened the door to the ministry that the Lord would use to help save my life.


Seven months ago, my daughter was rescued by her father from a toxic home—an unsafe, unhealthy, and above all, highly dangerous environment and I was unsure if I’d be able to see her again… Through the love, support, and guidance of the people in this ministry, I can once again see my little girl—but most importantly, I’ve had a radical, eye-opening love encounter with the Creator: Jesus Christ.


Now, with each passing day, my love for Him grows, and I’m realizing that His love for me has never, EVER changed. His hands held me every step of my treacherous journey, and His hands pulled me out of the pit.


I want to take part in this to give back—to serve, to love, and to show a desperate, dying world who can give them life. I want to share the love that saves my life every day—every breath.

This event is an amazing recognition of what is truly happening here in our city. So many people are living this life day to day right before us. I spent many nights on the streets, not just by myself but a good part with 3 of my 4 children. Unaware of some of the resources available, but also embarrassed that my choices lead to this lifestyle, I felt I had no where to turn. An open bed at the Grace House changed mine and my children’s life forever. And now we have the opportunity to give back. This was all possible because of the Grace of God. And now my family is building an amazing relationship with the Father. Help us do the same for others!

As a pastor, I frequently come across people who have no where to go and are in desperate need of food, shelter, and care. I’m so thankful to know that there is Lighthouse to offer those things.

As a Christ follower, I believe every person is made in God’s image and is worthy of mercy, grace and receiving the hope of the gospel. I’m thankful the Lighthouse offers those things and is used to change lives!

Each of the last two years participating has opened my eyes in new ways, and given me a way to act on what I believe. It’s also a really great time connecting with other people who value this ministry in our community and the people they serve — if you’re considering it, just do it! Or contribute to my $1000 goal:)
